"In Nature,
We Dance... In Yoga, We Dance... They are one in the same!"
Our Mission Statement
We are here to offer
ancient healing arts in a modern world. Our highly prepared teachers and
therapists, in the elegant and serene environment, welcome and nurture all
levels of student. "Teaching Classical Yoga from the heart, for the
heart."
Nancy Sutton's House of
Yoga & Wellness Center opened its doors on October 16, 2000. We were the
first Yoga Studio to open in Shasta County since the last one closed over 15 years
ago.
The HOUSE OF
YOGA is a non-competitive environment dedicated to offering the experience, of
what many call “life altering” YOGA, with all those who desire a more peaceful,
healthful, and joyful daily life.
Nancy Sutton
Pierce is a Registered Nurse with an extensive background in health education. Together
with her husband, Mark Pierce, MD, Nancy owned and operated an outpatient
diabetes education clinic for thirteen years.
Yoga became a
passion for Nancy in the early 90's. With an intense desire for a special place
to honor yoga for herself and others, and the need to offer an alternative form
of healing, the House of Yoga was born. The space is elegant, warm, nurturing
and peaceful. The immediate sense one has upon entering the House Of Yoga is
that of serenity and calm.
All of the teachers at The HOUSE OF YOGA are a wonderful blend of experience and
wisdom. They each bring a little something different to their classes. You
will find they all teach from their hearts, and follow Patanjali's yoga
guidelines. This is Classical Yoga.
